Go on, go the extra mile!
Every year, thousands of swimming enthusiasts from all over the world grab their caps, pack their towels and head to Midmar to swap their heated gym pools for the open water. A highlight on the swimming calendar since it started in 1973, the Midmar Mile is not just an event, it’s the world’s largest open water swim – a ‘must do’ for water babies of all ages. The Midmar Mile normally takes place about the 2nd week of February. Which is why we will be making it a looooong weekend so that the AMAA staff (we’re entering a team!) can go the extra mile (Please check our calender dates are we are closed on the Friday and Monday inclusive).
